New security measures for international travel From 31 March 2007, the Australian government introduced new security measures to limit the amount of liquids, aerosols and gels that can be taken through the screening-point for people flying to and from Australia or on an Australian domestic sector operated by an international flight.

All containers with drinks, creams, perfumes, sprays, gels, toothpaste and similar substances should not exceed 100ml each and will have to be carried in a re-sealable clear plastic bag, no larger than 20cm x 20cm and be inspected separately. There is a limit of one bag per person.

Exceptions will be made for medication and baby food. However, these items may be subject to additional security checks.

If your journey includes a transit or transfer to a connecting flight at another airport, your carry on baggage may be subject to re-screening and this will affect the purchase and carriage of liquids, aerosols and gels in your carry on baggage.

Find out more Changes to US Club Lounge access From 1 June 2007 US Airways will terminate their partner Airline Lounge Access Agreement. This means that Qantas Club members will no longer have access to US Club Lounges when traveling with US Airways.
